Meal Plans Fussy Eater Facts Happy Meal Times Dietician Corner

We commissioned a nutrition research study in Australia and the results have been startling!

Our study found that 82% of parents and caretakers feel that food rejection in children is of concern and that 41% of you are worried about your kids being fussy about food!

As many as 1 in 4 toddlers are defined as food rejecters, that is, they refuse to eat what has been prepared for them at least half the time! Sound familiar?

Also, we discovered that one in two toddlers refuse to try new foods at least half the time. If you're the parent of a fussy eater, be assured that you are certainly not alone but there is good news!

It seems that breakfast might be your respite from food rejection. Kids that generally refuse to eat what is usually prepared for them will reject food the least often at breakfast time compared to any other meal occasion.

What do you need to know?

It is important for food rejection to be handled correctly to avoid restrictive eating practices from persisting into later life. Let kids enjoy the adventures of Coco and his gang of friends and know that they're getting a nutritious start to their day too!
